goin' forward
on: March 02, 2022, 21:33:16
i wrote this a long time ago
upset at a friend for some possibly valid reason.

I found forgiveness and moved on
I replaced his name with that of my guitar. My guitar is a troublesome Mofo too.

feedback would be nice   ;)

going forward

don't it sound like th' old is about to die?
take them happy stories and say goodbye
we were going forward until you left me behind
we were going forward, through the best n' the worst of times

change of season as even the clocks unwind
when you would come around like y' were a friend of mine
we were going forward until you left me behind
you would come around, Claude, and we would unwind

didn't we have enough of the stuff of life,
long way to go with
abrasions on the knee
take aim at the target though
it's well out of reach

Hola @rightly

I really like the introduction, it gives a special atmosphere to what follows and the rhythm is enveloping but strange with its unusual sounds.
This line is very strange
"long way to go with
abrasions on the knee"

I don't know why but it makes me think of people who advance but on their knees, bent in a certain way but without losing sight of the goal

Stay well

I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

Hoi hoi @rightly
Hope this finds you well.

It’s not really a secret that a obvious thumb print a.k.a. Instant recognition is sort of number 1 in my book.
And that is what you deliver.  Hat off.

Kind regards, Gus

@rightly  - sorry, I am a bit late to this thread. Liked the song a lot, fine rhythm and strong lyrics. I felt that after the line
didn't we have enough of the stuff of life,
the melody would continue upwards and go forward in a more chorus style.
Looking forward hearing what your cooking up at this moment
