And heres the most important thing of this challenge, @MichaelA s beautiful lyrics:

Two Hearts in the Snow

When I looked out of my winter window
A shroud of snow covered the ground
And did I dream a robin by my winter window
Sang you were back in town?
Twelve months now, since you went away
Feel it like yesterday

I love you
Ill write it in the snow
And draw a big heart around it
Just so youll know

So I walked out into the frozen landscape
To the fields where wed once go
Where Id etch those words and carve my snowy heart shape
If you passed by, Im sure youd know
Id seize back time thats slipped away
Oh if I could, this day

I love you
Ill write it in the snow
And draw a big heart around it
Just so youll know

The snow was falling
Felt like calling
To Heaven with a prayer
But turning around
I was spellbound
You were kneeling there
Engraving in the Christmas snow
Ah, just to let me know

I love you
You wrote it in the snow
And drew a big heart around it
Just so Id know

I love you
I wrote it in the snow
And drew a big heart around it
Just so youd know

Two hearts in the snow
Two hearts in the snow

I really hope that MichaelA will be posting his version of the song.
Thanks for writing the lyrics for this challenge. The song wrote itself.
Kind regards, Gus

This is fantastic!!!!

The bar has been set high.

Wow Gus, amazing treatment of these lyrics. You smash it into life with the very first guitar riffs in your crazy signature style. Then you've made a BIG BIG Chorus that really drives the whole thing forward.

My idea when I wrote the lyrics was for a gentle ballad, just shows how flexible lyrics can be when given to imaginative musicians/songwriters.

You've made this your own, very punchy and very catchy indeed. And amazing how quickly you turned this one round, very well done!  ::thumb::
If you like novels with a musical theme, why not try 'Sixth Beatle - When Music Changed The World', easily found on Amazon and Google. It is amazing, although as the author I may be biased!

I'm not sure about that @Leonard Scaper , to be honest. Once you have a bar, you put some magnesium on your hands and pull up. Gymnastic style. 10 kilos ago I used to be quite good at that. And I figure I'm not the only one.
But I like it very much that you like it.
Thank you for the compliments.
Kind regards, Gus

'We are going to do the beginning nice and easy.  And then we're going to do the rest nice and rough', or so said Tina Turner on the 1st of Feb 1971 in the Kuhrhaus in Scheveningen in the introduction of Proud Mary.
So nice and rough love songs exist. I'm not to blame. It's the lyrics that are to blame. The song wrote itself, thanks to the magnificent lyrics.
I used to shy away from love songs. But Katrina and now this one, within the space of half a year, I think I'm beginning to get to like it a lot.

Hope my children won't find out.

Bet there will be other people to write the ballads.
And most of all, I am soooooooo curious about your own song!
I voted for your lyrics and I'm glad you've won!
Kind regards, Gus

Well everybody kind of mellows with age Gus, so maybe your kids will quite like these love song excursions.

As to my own song, I think it is going to be stripped back. Well maybe...but I will have to wait until some time comes free on Sunday, and then I will be hoping for one of my lucky creative days as opposed  to one of my unproductive dry days. So anything can happen really. BUtbthanks for your contribution, it made me very happy!  ;D

Don't get the story behind this challenge thing....
but lyrics and song and performance I LIKE A Lot.

I've posted two songs.
One as a song of my own. The usual. Count to four and bang the hell out of it. The calories you burned. Of course about anything that can happen between the Kitchen table and the bed.
This one here is a challenge where MichaelA wrote a love song and every Kitchener wanting to join the challenge, has to write a song with those lyrics. Hence the same lyrics challenge.
It's just that by cheer accident or luck I'm the first posting. Otherwise you would have noticed the pattern. No reason to be worried.

Thanks for listening!
You're a little early since other competitors have not arrived yet.
Kind regards, Gus

Strong track - definitely wide sound and strong opening to the challenge. I hear some Brude Springsteen vibes - not sure why, but it has that feel to it,,, at least while I listened to it now. Will listen again this weekend and figure out if it still has this Bruce feel...

I haven't listened to this yet @LePlongeur ...... I think the thing about this challenge is that once you listen to someone else's it could mess you up, right?  :bonk:
I just want you to know that I fully support your efforts and once I get a firm grasp on my melodic content then I will listen to yours. I think that is the way to go.  ???  maybe.

Thanks @oorlab.
Getting favourable reactions is always fun, but getting them on soundcloud is rather new to me.
I even answered.
I hope that you decide to make an entrance too.
Have a nice weekend.

You approach the challenge the way you seem fit, of course, @Bill from November Sound .
In this case, thank you for not listening.
Lots of success with your song.  I take it that you are top competition in these challanges, so I have to be extra attentive (?) where your entries are concerned.
Kind regards, Gus

@LePlongeur  Full gas !- I like that anthemic ringing guitar attack. I read the lyrics first and heard a ballad... I expect those will follow but this is going to be hard to top. Like a love song played to a packed stadium
Turned up the volume and enjoyed::e-guitar3::

If you only knew how many people, who are not Kitcheners, listen to our entries....

Maybe the tweakers, worry warts, endlessly polishers do have a bit of a point.
We'll see who's right in the end. The end?
Kind regards, Gus
