Hear Me Coming

Hi Kitcheneeers! 

I had a free night and some fungi and it turned into a creative outburst. 

This one is a different vibe than what I normally do.  It's a vintagey boogie rock tune comprising of exactly two total chords.  But it came together so well that I actually might be done with it. 

I actually mixed this one in mono.  First time I've ever mixed fully in mono and i really like it.  Keeps things simpler for my overcomplicating mind.  I think I pulled the vintage sound I was going for though. 

BUT, I challenge you all to NOT tap your toe, stomp your foot, or bob your head along to this one

Fine Kitchen reference too - may be @Mo & @1roomstudio  an idea for after "Green".

The style and straightness of the mix remind me of early Fleetwood Mac.  The solo is ace, must be great to have a band play this live.
You write and recorded this in one night! Hats off

I like the early Fleetwood Mac reference.  I always liked the Peter Green stuff better than the Stevie Nicks era.

Honestly, I had a 70% rough mix after one night.  Spent the next few listening, tweaking, adjusting, retracking, etc.  This current mix came about last night after retracking a few vocal lines. 

I still can't believe I pulled off that solo.  Im a pretty limited soloist so this one was a really welcomed surprise.

I hope to play it with my band one day too.  I think it would knock em dead live 

Had a listen to your song, not my the kind of style of songs I would listen to on a relaxing day but I it kelp my interest. it is a busy song.

Great tune! Love that you mixed it in mono....it definitely gives it an early rock vibe. Your vocals have that vibe as well.

I really like how the guitar works with the drums.

Love the drum intro, very muscle car rocken' I can't drive 55! Would have been a contender for the two chord challange

The truth is that your experiment of recording in mono has given a good result, I have to try it or also.... Hmmm
The song has incredible strength, your voice is very dynamic, it has punch. I liked it.

Hey Knate . . . really enjoyed this one !  . . . here in Canada we might call this rockabilly, but it's a rockin' song either way. You mention mono, yes that totally works for this one, comes straight at you and is totally radio (and iPhone) ready. Your vocals really deliver here, and I especially like the outro ooh oohs, you're having some fun and that translates perfectly for the first time listener. Goin' back for another hit, as a second time listener.

I hope this inspires more people to let all inhibitions go. The less we think about it, the better it gets.
