Hallo Everybody,

Dave and I wrote another Bluesy Song. I would like to introduce this one to you and would like to have your precious feedback
regarding eventual lack of dynamic,  mix,  whatsoever...Here's to you XXXChris

Here’s to you :
(2019 Christiane Spruit)

I hear your footsteps
And the way you‘re dragging yourself up
the second floor of the house seems far , too far to reach
But I know what you've been up to
All night long

You look in my eyes
and tell me, you are not cheating
getting lost more and more in lies and alibis
But I know That you have been gone
All night long

Stone - cold, the glass is waiting sober
whole damn life has been another "hard days over"
Here's to you

When I look in your eyes
I can taste pain and sorrow
my whole damn life, I cannot get a grip on me
all that's left to lose for me
Is you

Stone - cold, the glass is waiting sober
whole damn life another "hard days over"
all that's left to lose for me
Is you

Great blues song @Chris Spruit . Dave's guitar tones are fantastic and your vocals are the best I have ever heard from you. You captured your voice perfectly for this one and the vocal sits just right in the mix.

Speaking of the mix....this is an excellent one. Love the separation of the guitars and the tone of the bass.

I've heard a lot of fine stuff from you guys but this one is the best to me because of how your vocals work and the mix in general. Absolutely pro production.

@Leonard Scaper Thank you for listen !!!! Yes , I like the way we captured the vocals , too . Glad you mentioned that. Vocals are always tricky.
What about the hard panned Guitar , that cuts through ? Does it work, or is it a bit too fizzy??
Always appreciate your close listen and opinion. You know that! XXXChris

We both passed Zaragoza so, as a matter of speech, we waved at you while we were driving south. And at more or less at the same time you were driving east.

Dave does his regular beautiful Snowy Whitish things. And the whole some is tasteful without it becoming too much on the safe side.

If I had to comment on the mix (you know about my impeccable mixes) I could do with a little more volume on the piano and a little less volume on the lead guitar.
But hard panned guitars are great. Especially for the voice. If the singing is great. And bloody great it is!!!

OK, next!
Did I tell you I love it to bits?
I’ve been back twice for another spin.
Kind regards, Gus

@LePlongeur
Gus, we should get our travel timing fixed for later travellplans , so we'll meet and don't pass by like ships on the night :-)
Yes, Snowy White, but for me the groove was a bit Peter Green,  I would love to be Stevie Nicks....lol, big shoes but hey I am streching,  :loveit:
Good to know, you like the guitars panned and sounding that way. We were getting insecure about that.
Lead guitar too loud, isn't that the fate of a vocalist, and all others in a band. I gave up on that :-) ...things you'll never change ...just kidding...

Piano , good you pointed that out. Will take care of that.

XXXThank you , <3 Chris

I loved the hard panned guitars...as well as the tone, particularly that lead tone on the one panned far right. I'm not usually a fan of L/C/R mixes....not sure this is truly L/C/R....but this mix is really very good.

Oh...I meant to ask...are you still using that Peluso for your vocals? Whatever mic you used REALLY works for your voice.

Hola @Chris Spruit

Your voice looks beautiful, I love that tone!! The guitar also stands out for its successful phrasing and becomes a complementary voice.
Very good song. Congratulations you and Dave  ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::heart::

Hey @Chris Spruit - this is great! All the elements sound spot on. Guitar, vocals in particular - and I love those organ parts sneaking in and out in the background.. sweet! Love the way you  sing ‘get a grip’! I wasn’t 100% sold on that dirty guitar part in the right ear after ‘stone cold....’ from around 2.55. Seemed a little harsh to my ear... I know you have it earlier and it didn’t disturb me there. But I appear alone in this so feel free to ignore me  ;D ..

Great song, performance and production!

@Zedd Thank you for your close listen and kind comment. I agree on that one chord that somehow sounds in my ears fizzy and harsh, too
we will have a look into it . Great feedback.  :ok:

@Chris Spruit It's a great piece of work, although I think I agree with @LePlongeur that the lead guitar could be lowered a slight bit in the mix. The panned guitar works just fine, but it could be upped a tiny bit. The singing is great, leave it like it is. It's a typical blues song, and yes, Snowy White springs to mind.
Pleudoniem: composer; bass guitarist; guitarist; singer; drummer; tap-guitarist - o, and yes... erm- a bit of keys. Open for collabs.

Chris, this sounds very professionally done. It’s a great listen, thank you for sharing.
I’ll have to keep my comments on the “listener” side of the fence, as I don’t have any technical music production skills to speak of.........yet!

These kinds of songs seem simple on the outside. I know how complicated the mixes can be if you didn't use loops and are playing all the parts.

You are a very competent lyricist and mixing engineer. Nice space in the mix. Vocals are just right. It takes the whole package to deliver something that sounds radio ready. I think you have done just that!
