Het vooruitzicht al/Enjoying the prospect
on: May 09, 2020, 19:00:08

Again a bi-lingual song.
And again posted with no other reason than to let you read and listen to them.
I am a song writer in the purest sense of the word, so yes, there are some flaws.
I hit the red button and start playing whatever comes to mind.

More often than not, there is a musical quote used to make this or these songs.
It's the couple of second's long bass line from The Dutch - This is welfare.
Bass drum and snare by Lumbeat. Thank you Lumbeat.

baby dat heet I need cooling

O God O God ik haat dat liegen
daar ben ik echt niet voor geschikt
stiekem met je het bed induiken
andersom? k Had t niet gepikt

Br
Natuurlijk loopt in Amsterdam iedereen
stug op zn horloge te kijken
is je glas half leeg? Maak m dan vol
beter dan er over te zeiken

R
Ik liep wat verdwaald in de winkel
zo lang al geen condooms meer gekocht
ik geniet van het vooruitzicht al
blij dak in je schap neuzen mocht

Enjoying the prospect

We ask Elsje to join us as well
and why is she wearing her clothes?
she declines all of a sudden
why? to be honest, no one knows

Think of it as posh disorderly.
's if you got out from between the sheets
my memory an affected film
patched up with snogging and sweets

I lowered my hand gently
with an impure intent
look at my teeth in your shoulder
baby thats how quickly it went

O God O God I hate that lying
I'm really not cut out for that
sneaking into bed with you
would have thought its not where Im at

Br
Of course in Amsterdam everyone walks
stubbornly watching their watch
is your glass half empty? Then fill it up
better than whining, were a match

R
I walked in the store a little lost
haven't bought condoms for so long
I'm enjoying the prospect already
an evening full of strip pong

W2016/6apr2019 WE2mei2020

Enjoy!
Kind regards, Gus

Ding Dong!
It's the Strip Pong Song!

 ;D    :D

You know I love you anyway @LePlongeur  .

It sounds good actually.  :ok:

When you record this what do you have for tracks? I know you say you hit the red button and record but is it all one track or do you have separate stems you can mix together?
I was playing along with you on the piano and I think maybe I'd like to add some keys to this song sometime.
Like imagine there's a part with bass piano and drums and then the guitar comes back in heavy on the refrain. Or maybe an organ?

I love the weight of your music, Gus @LePlongeur . Seriously. It settles over me and wraps me up.

And your lyrics leave nothing on the table. I mean....

I lowered my hand gently
with an impure intent
look at my teeth in your shoulder
baby thats how quickly it went

Yeah.

The recorder is a BOSS  BR1200cd, a museum worthy hard disk recorder.
There's no connection with internet or the electronics here at home.
I work in series of 10 songs; normally 1 song per day. When the series is/are complete, I listen back what I did.
On the 28th of April I recorded song 1, so the Dutch version was done the 1st of May. Friday we came out of total isolation, had a very small scale garden party, so the English version (lead voices and backing voices over the same backing tracks) i did the 9th of May.

The drum part (bass drum and snare + fingerdrumming on IPad) are done first. Track 3 + 9 + 10
Then on track 1 + 2 pilot guitar and first voice.
Then track 7 right rhythm guitar
track 6 left rhythm guitar
track 4 'lead' guitar
track 8 bass guitar
track 1 doubled lead voice
track 2 background singing with loop station
track 5 small percussion, shaker, tambourine

track 11+12 are for mixing and 'mastering'
1 hour and  some 20 minutes later the song is ready. Mixed, mastered and put in line to be burned on CD.
For the English version, I erased the tracks 1 + 2 and sung the English version.

All tracks are one take recordings mixed together for a sketch of a song.

I can send no separate tracks to somebody else, due to the structure of the outdated technique.
And today at 6PM, I'll be there again for the first of another series of 10.
I like that a lot. Don't know if this explanation is helpful, but I tried.
And I like it a lot that you listened and still love me.
Kind regards, Gus

You are right @Leonard Scaper .
I leave nothing on the table except Elsje when she dances. We can only hope she'll drop the stilettos, otherwise the table will suffer.

This heaviness is part of the handwriting I guess. Even when I promise myself to make something subtle, it will come out like this. It's like some other activities, if I think too much all the fun's gone.

Great that you listened!
Kind regards, Gus

I like how you like it @Mora Amaro La Loba
Your quick to the core remarks were surely missed.
Thank you for your time and comments.

I like your stubbornly? old school approach @LePlongeur ,your guitar chiming along and  the darkly funny subject ... I`m thinking  of reluctant  Elsje and wondering where I missed the chance to change from ping pong to strip pong.
Cool

Yes, that is exactly how the story developed @robertkc . We tend to write about our real or imagined victories or that she treated me so horribly that I am too depressed to come out of bed for three months straight.

This pattern skips the entire human spectrum. Elsje was reluctant and the more she thought about it, the more she knew she would not be part of all this. And she made her decision clear in a very feminine way. Elsje is really something els.

A very nice thought that you angled out the softer part of the lyrics. I like that very much.
Thank you very much for your time and comment.
Kind regards, Gus
