hometown song competition: CHILDREN CREATE THE WORLD

my second entry
I started another version of this one with bells and whistles, but pulled back to this simple tune.
I think it works better in capturing the free spirit of childhood and place (Hawaii in the 60s)
Thanks for listening,
WAZEE

hey @WAZEE - just listened to this. These are lovely sentimental lyrics that hearken to a simpler life and time. It is interesting how a melody with more of a static rhythm is combining with that moving ukelele strum.
Good show!  :)

The uke is a perfect instrument for this song. You're right about how it somehow frames your setting of uncomplicated childhood while the wonderful simplicity of the lyrics allows the listener to slip into the scene and create his or her own image of those innocent days.

Nice piece and an excellent entry, Mike.

Great track @WAZEE

I really like the sound of that ukulele - it suits the song and of course the link to Hawaii perfectly.

Nice words and a strong entry for the comp I reckon.

cheers

Love the older Hawaiian musical trad, as well as the younger.
And now I seem to even love the Hawaiian that’s no longer there.
Love it to pieces actually.
Very very well done. And good luck with the challenge.
Kind regards, Gus

Hey @WAZEE

Welcome to the kitchen! :)

What a beautiful and heartwarming little song. I like it a lot. Unfortunately the recording is a bit crappy. It would be even more enjoyable if you‘d used a better microphone.

Cheers,
Mark
