@Dutchbeat @Mar T.  not sure if I said I was joing so if im too late its no problem

Lyrics

verse 1

Younger days a time gone long
Forgotten names and strangers faces
All these things and everyone
The passing time now erases
Still a thought is holding on
A memory that willnot fall
Has a place with our names upon
Our graffiti wall

Verse 2

All this time and there it’s stood
Through the years of bad and good
Wildwind, relentless rain
Took its toll the sun the same
i see  the faded name I scrawl
On our graffiti wall

Change

And now two lovers stand
Where we once stood
They’re holding hope in hand
And all the world is good
now their names are wrote upon
On our graffiti wall

Verse 3

Built upon a saintly shrine
Brought to be by broken stones
These walls have seen much time
Along the way on cobbled stones
I still see the faded name I scrawl
On our graffiti wall

Change

And now two lovers stand
Where we once stood
They’re holding hope in hand
And all the world is good
now their names are wrote upon
On our graffiti walls
I Dont Know What It Is God Put In My Hands,
I'll Throw It Away And Start A Rock n Roll Band

Lovely sentiment and the sparse 1+1 recording gives the lyrics extra poignancy. Good luck in the competition! Dan

Great lyrics @The C&D Project - I like the idea of the graffiti wall.

Your words conjure up a lot of images (no pun intended) as graffiti has a powerful connection over time.

On my speakers the vocals seem much louder than the guitar. As there are only two tracks on this song - maybe the guitar needs to come up a little in the mix?

Good luck in the comp!

cheers

Thanks @Jurgen Im a one track pony, I have no patience to record guitar and vocal tracks so I just do it live,

 Thanks again for listening

Hey @The C&D Project

I like those lyrics and your laid-back delivery. There are a couple of quite unusual chord changes and melodic twists in there, and those make the song very interesting, but also a little difficult to sing. (don‘t they? ;))
Please don‘t get me wrong, I really like your approach. And I think I can hear all the tones you were heading for, you just didn‘t hit them all.
Sounding good already, but there‘s a litte room for improvement...

Cheers,
Mark

Hey @The C&D Project , if you'll excuse the pun, this one definitely paints a picture,
a graffiti wall is a great idea to get the imagination thinking along with the lyrics.
well done.

Great story-telling @The C&D Project C&D drew me in... An interesting lo-fi production that works from an arrangement perspective.

Good luck in the competition!

This song had a beautiful, raw vibe, with the gentle, cut-like-a-cool-breeze guitar and the emotional, open delivery. I think there are a lot of technical improvements you could make to the song, but I wouldnt change anything in the performance and arrangement, because you would run the risk of breaking something and never being able to capture it quite the same way.

I used to go to university in Newcastle so I appreciate the reference to wind, because that (and break-ins) are my overriding memories of living there !!! Good job! :-)

Nice work @The C&D Project ! I love that imagery of 'our names on the graffity wall', gave me the visual reference to 'personal history' from the singer point of view. Smart!
It suits this song that the accompaniment was kept simple. I'd balance the guitar and vocal a bit more (vocal is a bit too loud imo compared to the guitar level).
Enjoyed the listen, thanks for joining and good luck in the competition!!

Cheers!
