I know you think
on: May 09, 2020, 20:05:13
« Last Edit: May 09, 2020, 22:56:55 by Rightly »
Wrote this maybe 20 years ago, well more.

Was too personal to play to anyone back then. Now I've some  distance and the production almost neutralizes all that which once made it difficult.

Feedback very welcome.

Lyrics.

I know you think

know you think that I'm  crazy
You have no idea how much that hurts me
And in your chambers it must get lonely
Your house is very big it gets bigger when you are the only

I thought I hated you
I really wanted to
I wanted you to see me strong
Everything u'thought well, just had to be wrong

And your lights have been off for so long
Maybe you've forgotten how to turn them on
I know that you think I'm crazy

It was funny when I turned things inside out
I was happy when your laughter took the last of my doubts
Oh big love I trust big words you must speak
Or turn a deaf ear to this prisoner when you hear him weep

And your lights have been off for so long
Maybe you've forgotten how to turn them on
I know that you think that I'm crazy

I love that intro and I really like how you are using percussion.

This is a really good song. Lyrically it grabbed my interest right away and the clarity of the production, particularly the vocals, makes this song a pleasure to listen to.

Love the ending.

Interesting how our perspective on ourselves tends to change with time, right?

I always knew it was a good song, just too personal.
I was quite pushy while producing.
I didn't want another mixing marathon.
(I have that now)

I originally was addressing a certain family member who I was close to in ways. Dysfunctional relationships can be crippling at times. I was going n robust, I wrote the song and over time the dynamics changed, I got eine insight and distance, I developed other needs.

There's a number of songs I need to finish. After that I hope to take a break, maybe a live album.

Thanks for posting.

Excellent sound.............and I'm always drawn in by your lyrics.
Good stuff..........a bit depressing, however.

Ah. Quite a way to go yet to get my the sound I want.
I keep having to go back to my tracks to improve them. I am making some progress but not fast enough.

On a bit of a learning curve.
Things should go better when they quieten down.
