Into the Uncharted

A positive Jambrains song for a change!  :)
As always @Zedd offered fantastic supported while working with the lyrics, without her they would be mediocre at best :-)
All an any feedback welcome esp re the mix.

Into the uncharted
and though I'm not ready
my journey has started
I hold my course steady
If let my heart guide me
be brave, and be open
I know Iíll find love
The one true emotion

One step at a time
To reach my destination
My goal is not defined
Nor is the course or the location
Still, onwards I will travel
in my search for Xanadu
To make my mystery unravel
Bring my future into view
My past will not define me
I have learned from my mistakes
My eye is on the prize
a life that Iíll embrace

Into the uncharted
and though I'm not ready
my journey has started
I hold my course steady
If let my heart guide me
be brave, and be open
I know Iíll find love
The one true emotion

One brick at a time
I'll tear down the walls around me
I want it all but need to find
a path that will allow me
tell what's right and what is wrong
what's weak and what is strong
Strive to love and to belong
Before my life is drawn
I need something to help me
Chase the shadows from my heart
Something or something
A brand new start

Into the uncharted
and though I'm not ready
my journey has started
I hold my course steady
If let my heart guide me
be brave, and be open
I know Iíll find love
The one true emotion

I've got lessons to learn
and I've got time to burn
Iíll take it steady
Wonít move too fast
And as destiny calls
I will rise, I will not fall
Fear wonít own me
and nor will the past

Into the uncharted
and though I'm not ready
my journey has started
I hold my course steady
If let my heart guide me
be brave, and be open
I know Iíll find love
The one true emotion
Let man's petty nations tear themselves apart
My land's only borders lie around my heart

Works for me, both when not logged in as well as when I'm logged into the Ashes for Dreams account. Perhaps @Mar T.  put your computer in quarantine?

@Jambrains  - wow!! This is really outstanding, a hit I would say. Wondering what  @smajor  thinks about the lyrics, and what @budhabuilding  has to say about the mix and build-up. I say, ... imho ...  :pompom:  utterly brilliant!! Touch of Dire straits, a bit of Springsteen in the lyrics, but above all original Jambrains music!

Great tune!!! Listening here in my office I went to the decent headphones (in lieu of the earbud for office listening) since you asked for critique on the mix.  My first thought right off the bat is that I love where the vocal sits. My second thought was that the piano in the intro had a bit of an edge to it at around 1.5 K (ish). That disappeared after the intro.

LOVE where the percussion is....especially the kick.

This song is huge....really. Seriously excellent vocals....not just the performance but the presence in the mix and the way you let them build with harmonies.

The way you come out of that quieter part at around 2:40 is really strong.....driven, again, by that excellent percussion.

Great tune, man!!!!

I absolutely LOVE how that last piano note rings out a bit to carry the song out.

@oorlab hit it on the head with his Dire Straits comparison.
"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper

I often get comments about the mix or mixes of my songs. So I am not a compass to sail by.
Itís both very personal as well as very much depending on the plans you have with the song.
I was senang (behassa Indonesia) with your mix song what the you know....
senang is OK sort of.

For the rest I am with @Leonard Scaper  who is razor sharp in his analysis.
As usual.
@Jambrains
I am not too great a fan of dire straits, so I really am not qualified for the game.

I love it though. Is that ok enough?
Right, after much blah I nailed it down.
I like it a lot. I had to look up the meaning of the title......
Keep Ďem coming.
Kind regards, Gus
