Jane... Why Did You Treat Me Like That?
on: May 07, 2020, 07:42:19
Jane is based on a true story.  It's a damn heartbreak song which is something I swore I'd never write. https://soundcloud.com/user-316831637/jane-mix-b-wav

Anyway, "Jane" really got to me and I was messed up for over a year so instead of moping around I decided to use the emotion to write and angry song about it.

JANE

You never could have broke my heart.
Unless you planned to do it from the start.
My friends and I all agree.
You've gone and made a big fool out of me!

Jane, why did you treat me like that?
This time when I go you know I ain't comin back
You fill the flowers up with rain
You fill the ocean up with pain

You said you wouldn't hurt me so
You pretended that you didn't know
But some day you are gonna be
Erased completely from my memory

Hey Jane, why did you treat me like that?
This time when I go you know I ain't comin back
It could have been so very nice
Sometimes it felt like it was paradise

When your with the other guys
And you close your pretty eyes
To slip into a fantasy
Where you pretend the one you're with is me.

If you ever thought that I might be coming back
You'd have to tie your first born brat to a railroad track
You'd have to put me in your will
And after that it would take a miracle

You never could have broke my heart.
Unless you planned to do it from the start.
My friends and I all agree.
You've gone and made a big fool out of me!

Jane, why did you treat me like that?
This time when I go you know I ain't comin back
You fill the flowers up with rain
You fill the ocean up with pain

Love it, Man....................The 60's vibe makes me think of the days when Tarzan was a favorite TV show.
Good stuff..............I'm glad you got over her ;-)

Actually she got me back a couple of times even though my inner voice was telling me to run.  She really had a hold on me.

I got over her but the whole thing was the most potent experience I ever had in my life. There was lots of sexual chemistry that clouded my mind and made be ignore red flags.

Liking the song @CGHound - there a kind of retro vibe to this, and I like the blend of the abrasiveness of the rock guitar with the pop elements delivered by the vocals and other instrumentation. Good lyrics too and a story we can all relate to! The only thing I think could be missing is a bridge/filler to take the song in a different direction then bring you back to the hook. Also maybe more variation and energy needed in the final chorus to build the song into a strong finish. Other than that, this is a good'un!

I like this production a lot. I'm hearing a cross between The Kinks and our own @LePlongeur;)

Good song, man., with some seriously good hook lines!

Thank you @Leonard Scaper to draw my attention to this gem.
If this isnít a 1966 pre psychedelics nugget, I donítknow What is.
I studied all my life to make organized trash music and these young people come and do it better.
Guess I have to use it as a motivation to get better to stop them in their stride.

Needless to say, I think, @CGHound I am not angry at all.

You would do me greaeaeat pleasure if you went on making this kind of songs. And if you would tell me what guitar and pedal you used to get this sand paper sound.

Qulality like this is rare. Look at Leonardís sig CG, and I am talking about robotic conformity.
Dare to stand out!!!
Next one please!
Kind regards, Gus

When I started writing this song I didn't have an idea in mind as to what it would end up being. I was playing a lot of pop rock at the time. All I had to write the song was motivation.

The guitar tone was done with a generic amp simulator in the DAW.
