We are all affected by what is happening, without realizing it, we who thought we were the kings of mambo have discovered that we are only a moment under the pandemic and now with Putin.... It is curious to realize that most countries are being governed by thugs... And that people vote for them... It will be because they like it...

@Vince .....yeah, that lyric showed up just before I tracked the vocals.  You're right, btw.......sometimes a song just has to be released into the world just to relieve (or maybe to create) tension.

Your a little less than Spartan backing gives the lyrics all the more urgency, yet keeping up your authentic handwriting.

and the peculiar (Spartan, as @LePlongeur puts it ) phrasing that defines your style. The absence of drums or any ongoing beat suits it well.

@oorlab ....I was not so sure about that line. I worried that it sounded too contrived. But...that was what I was thinking so....... 

On a side note.......

I have just been informed by the gentleman that bought the property that I have been renting for twelve years that he wants his son to move in here. So....tomorrow I will start to dismantle my studio as I let the river of life take me downstream one more time.

It may be a few months before I post another tune.....or even longer, all thing considered. I will still be listening.

@Leonard Scaper  . . . well, perhaps this a new millennium protest song . . . really enjoyed it ! Sentiments echoed here. 8 billion people, sad how it only takes one nutball to mess things up. Nice how you tied it into a 1960's protest song with that fade ending. A little more edge to the guitars than I've heard from you, but totally suits this tune.

I believe you have expressed the response to this Madman held by most of the world… surely there is some relief in getting this off your chest… I know I feel it!

Lots of great lines in the lyrics and none of them sound contrived… they sound spontaneous and genuine.  The connection to the atmosphere in the 60s is one that hit me the day after the invasion…. An oddly familiar feeling…

When you sing “Let the Chips Fall” it is indeed an Anthem of Protest…. It’s time for such songs again. Thank you @Leonard Scaper  for sharing yours.
