Lockdown Blues

Hey Kitchen,

Wrote this yesterday. Needs no explanation!

https://soundcloud.com/andomobot/lockdown-blues

I don't feel very useful
Sat at home
on my own
in an empty room
And if im being truthful.
i'm scared
There's a sense of impending doom
I just want to see you.

We only met in December
February I'd fallen hard, it's true
Now I can't even touch you!
Some say wait till September,
I hoping it's more like May or June
I just want to see you
Coz I've got the lockdown blues
The lockdown blues.

I don't feel very useful
Eating, drinking, sleeping , thinking
There's nothing else to do
And if you're being truthful
You're at home all alone
Feeling useless too
I just want to see you...

Dan

A stenographic song @DanJames ?
I realized yesterday that the whole situation is creeping into my lyrics too.
It's a pity it isn't a bit longer and at the same time it being so short urges me to pay attention.
I like it a lot.
Kind regards, Gus

(The B side of one of the Small Faces' Decca singles ran for 1'46" too. You're in good company)

Enough said @DanJames ... but why am I kind of enjoying the empty streets? Great guitar driven pop - you are a master at this-crackles with energy despite the subject. Excellent vocal and mix; a bit hard to catch all the lyrics, but I like the "no touching" part.
A very minor nit ; esses are quite pronounced in places.
Stay safe!

Robert

thanks @LePlongeur and @robertkc.  I enjoyed writing this as a lighthearted take on a serious situation,  and am glad you enjoyed it too (i'll try to de-ess the esses!)

I hope everyone is ok in these very strange times.

thanks @Goatrelated and @Zedd . I have a bad habit of making supposedly sad songs sound happy. It kinda reflects my approach to life so I don't usually notice till  someone points it out! Anyway, all this lovely sun (in the UK) is definitely banishing the blues!
