Miles Apart

Evening all!

This is a new one of mine so would love feedback :) I will let the lyrics speak for themselves regarding the story behind the song.

Also, with the chorus - I have listened to it back  a few times and think the line would make more sense:
' know I won't, cause I don't AND I always come back to you' so I would plan to re-record with this, but would love any thoughts on this.

Thanks!

Blue, blue like the eyes I have know
Two, Two of us dancing alone
You, you needed time on your own
Blue, blue as the sadness hits home

And I never think
I never think
I just drop it all and I run
x2

And I've travelled miles and miles
just to be next to you
and I've given you all I am
but it's never enough for you
and Maybe I'll leave if you
treat me like this but you
know I won't cause I don't
Always come back to you
miles and miles just be next to you
but it still feels like miles apart

Fire, fire like the eyes of my soul
Tired, tired of just living alone
My, my bodies aching so cold
Fire, burning through all that I've known

And I never think,
I never think,
I just drop it all and I run
x2

And I've travelled miles and miles
just to be next to you
and I've given you all I am
but it's never enough for you
and Maybe I'll leave if you
treat me like this but you
know I won't cause I don't
Always come back to you
miles and miles just be next to you
but it still feels like miles apart

@Alex Add a rhythm section and I could be listening to Fleetwood Mac. Very good singing to what sounds to me as a very introspective song. Like!
Pleudoniem: composer; bass guitarist; guitarist; singer; drummer; tap-guitarist - o, and yes... erm- a bit of keys. Open for collabs.

I was about to shut down the studio for the day when I spotted your new tune @Alex . What a perfect way for me to go on with my day....with this beautiful delicate tune resonating in my mind.

Seriously amazing vocals and harmonies and lyrics that cut right to the heart.

Two of us dancing alone

Maybe I'll leave....but you know I won't

You should post the lyrics.........  :)

Gorgeous vocal/harmony @Alex and the pop melody is lovely.
Its easy to hear how this could be produced with asubtle rhythm section, maybe keyboard playing held chords, but I like it the way it is!

I donít do it on purpose, but I am always a little bit against the grain.
So, unless you have plans that will cause a storm in heaven, I would leave it as barren, fragile and lovely as it is.
Itís almost of a dream-like quality. Wish I could do this.
Tomorrow iíll be back for another spin.

Itís wonderful. Thatís all I have to say, I think.
Kind regards, Gus

@Alex - great singing, fine harmonies. If you consider another attempt at recording, I would leave the vocal placement intact and indeed as @LePlongeur  wrote, leave it bare and plain, but possibly add a few bars with instrumental outtro at the end.
The lyrics as heard sound good.

This is beautiful @Alex

I also like the stripped back sound of it. It makes your voice and the harmonies really stand out and creates a powerful sound.

Your voice and the song remind me of Missy Higgins - not a bad thing!

cheers
