Hi everybody,

The words spoke to me and I answered them. Here is the result. Let the words speak. Let the poets who inspired me be heard as well. They may be dead, but a good poet never really dies (he just smells a bit funny).

If I counted well, I used 23 of the words from the list. That should be more than enough to save me from any witchcraft.

@Leonard Scaper - yes, I ought to post the lyrics as well...

The silence of the Crow

A song so quite mellifluous
(I was) dozing in the petrichor
A lilting morning dew
Horizoning my view

I loved this blissful reverie
That quintessential calm
The languor of seclusion

The dazzling daylight water
She spoke to me so sonorant
So redolent and pure
So honest and demure

As if she meant to say
Just hear this little lullaby
And sleep to it for evermore

And suddenly that crow
Caught my unsuspecting eye
Sudden like a phoenix
Ubiquitous but sly

Are you a secret harbinger
A ripple or some ogre
A gateway into Hades

Alluring as it was
It landed on the sand
And revelled in a snail
Cruelly finishing its tale

It looked so lithe and black
But eyes so strangely elegant,
A gossamer between us.

For want of an epiphany
Or furtive serendipity
I murmured at the critter
- It didnít seem to bother

Tell me beast, is that your toy
The end of me, without a noise?
Iíd been hoping for some more

I like this music a lot  ::thumb::
This music might be difficult to understand by vulgar people
But I think that's not a problem for you ::Hoss::
Congratulations  ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb::

Hi @Pleudoniem !

Well, you bet strong !!! Beautiful and dark poem wrapped in story paper, brilliant intelligence transforming the crow into an elegantly indifferent notice that looks at you without haste.
The musical base has led me to the adventure of recognizing nightmarish and dreamy environments clung to a rhythm that sometimes melts.
Good story, good music.
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

I like how this song moves and I really like the music. This one definitely has your signature style.

Love to see the lyrics as well.

Good call! Interesting how you juxtapose Harbinger & Ogre - strong potion.
Somehow Soundcloud connects your song with this
https://soundcloud.com/vdoband/all-limbs-inside - curious to know what you think of that artificial connection...

@oorlab A strange connection indeed. What that band produces isn't quite like what I do at all. SoundCloud may be confused.
@Leonard Scaper  Thank you :) It's nice to have a signature style, but please warn me if my signature style means that I am starting to copy myself too much. I reckon that if you liked the song, that wasn't the case. it also doesn't necessarily have to be a problem. James Brown had a signature style, and I wouldn't call him boring at all :)
@Mora Amaro La Loba Yes, eerie, isn't it? Whenever I see a crow now, or any of its family like a rook or a jackdaw, I wonder. I did feel a connection to Poe's Raven when I wrote it though,  even without a lost Lenore.
@Marcus Nalgaber Not vulgar, but I may have a devious mind  >:D I am happy that you liked the music. Difficult erm? Yes, possibly. I often feel that much more is said in-between the lines than we can picture. It's said what isn't said.

I think it's very cool that folks can recognize an artist by their style. Yours in that way and I see it as a definite strong point.

WRT to copying one's self.........I sometimes feel as though I keep writing the same song over and over until I get it right. I think that's part of the process of writing one or two very good songs out of every 50 that you produce. That's my perspective anyway.  :)

The lyrics are a bit out there but you hit may of the words in the challenge! Good vibe going on, nice

@realkevm My lyrics usually have that out-thereness, so I was playing a bit of a home match. I tried to use as many words as I could and still make sense. I was careful not to produce any nonsensical lines, lines that were linguistically odd or anomalous, or bad English. When you read the lines in the picture that I was hoping to paint, then I think that went alright. Unless, of course, you find collisions that I overlooked.

@Leonard Scaper I totally agree there. The fact that we are slightly different every day is possibly why we can never get there. What we did yesterday may not quite match today or tomorrow, or when I was having winegums. I think Wallace Stevens said it more than perfectly in 'I cannot bring a world quite round, Although I patch it as I can'. in his classic gem 'The Man with the Blue Guitar'' I think you know the poem, and if not, I am sure you'll recognise its idea.

@Pleudoniem, what an entertaining musical and literary journey!  :D
Twenty-three words, eh? My word!  ;)

I can't deny the already mentioned 'out-there-ness' of the lyric, though it all works out in the end. Some of those word juxtapositions are a scream ('revelled in a snail'/'murmured at the critter') - and a delight. My gosh, you could get a bakers' dozen more songs out of them. I especially like 'horizoning my view', 'the languor of seclusion', and 'furtive serendipity'.

And the title is wonderful. I'm a big fan of crows. And of ravens. Love to write about them.

@DonMar Thank you! :) It's fun to toy with words and images and see what effect they may have. If they work, they can make things come alive that don't really live in real life yet.

@Pleudoniem ....I had not read that Wallace Stevens piece. I have now. Thanks for that.  :)

A tune beyond us as we are,
Yet nothing changed by the blue guitar;

Ourselves in the tune as if in space,
Yet nothing changed, except the place

Of things as they are and only the place
As you play them, on the blue guitar,
