hey @BayBlues and @vincent_stewart - I like the feel of this one, especially the last couple of minutes.

You duet really well and the song seemed to come alive at that point. The first part is nice enough but it seemed to gell more when you were both singing.

cheers

@BayBlues
@vincent_stewart

I like this song a lot...the whole presentation. There is real emotion here and it kept me listening through to the end to completely feel it.

If you all were to hear the part I sent @BayBlues to work with, you would realize a true Christmas miracle.  ::heart::

Hey guys, yes this song caught me as well, it's performed right from the heart and I felt that immediately.
There's some things that can be improved, most important is checking the strings if are in tune before starting the recording. In this case the guitar playing the licks is a bit off imo, and that's really a pity.
But, again, the true power for me is in the way it's performed, so heartfelt. Well done!!

Hey @BayBlues, for example the leading guitar at 1'32.. so not all guitars, just that one (it plays in some other parts of the song as well) ;-)

Me too @BayBlues ! That's why I suggested to improve in exactly these spots. I got that feel, but I was distracted by the tuning  ;) ;) Hahaha I have no specific style BB, I'm expirimenting in all styles and searching for my true identity. I definately love your identity AND style. Now go go fix that tunings and let us hear the results!!  ;) ;)

Off: Are you monitoring using studio speakers or headphones? I learned that when I monitored with too many loudness on my headphones I started to sing off key. That might also go for playing an instrument (with too many loudness on the headphones I'd be tempted to retune my strings). Do you use a guitar tuner? They come in really small and handy these days, you can clip them onto your instrument and tune in just a few seconds  ;) ;) Always trust that tuner  ::) ::)

You Make Me Laugh @Mar T  ;D,  I Actually Have A Few Tuners, A Fender Tuner That I Can Crank The Handle And Build Up A Charge In It Don't Have To Worry About Dead Batt.,  I Am On My 3rd Or 4th Clip On , And Last But Not Least I Have A Korg Tuner Model Gt-3, I Found At A Sale Among A Bunch Of Used Auto Parts And Memorabilia, $5.00 Bucks, He Wanted More I Could See The Larceny And Greed In His Eyes As Soon As He Saw I Was Interested In It.  He Was A Kickin' Himself For Putting A Price Tag On It.  Works Great, Very Accurate.

Sometimes Productions Are Too Sanitary, Look What Happened In Sound When They Started Transitioned To Solid State; The Folks With Tape And Tubes, Machinery Whirling, Unloaded Their Analog Gear, Transistor Was The New And Improved. NOW
That Old Gear Is Sought After And Expensive.  NOW The Trend Is To Put That Noise Back In. The Warmth OF Tubes, Hiss Of  The Tape Running Through The Magnetic Heads.....I'm Headed For The Sack, Back Is Sore From Chipping Ice On The Driveway Temp Was Down To -4 Fer. ...............~~~~~~*BB

Actually, I am the one out of tune @Mar T.  @BayBlues spliced together a demo track that I gave him to show how I thought the song should go. I tried to get a thin 50's sound out of the Strat.

I read they use to do that because on AM radio, which we all listed to as kids, that was one of the waveform to be able to be heard through what we had in the day. If you want to hear some of the masters, get a hold of some old Buck Owens not the remixed CDs but the old records - the Bakersvile sound has no low end. Plus I'll keep my hand off the whammy bar.

 Any way I am in Germany for the Christmas holiday and can't redo any of my parts. Bay Blues and I are similar souls. I am really glad that we were able to connect with you a gut level. If we run out of material I think (hope) we'll go back and redo some of the stuff.
Vince

You've got a damn pleasant voice the one you listen with attention !  ::thumb::
The song is cool even if we should have heard this melody a lot of times before but it fits great with a NY style song  ::headphone::
