Old Country Song WIP 16
on: November 25, 2019, 00:58:04
It's getting there... slowly... I've added  electric guitar. Might be a bit too much and too loud?

I was feeling good about the mix and then ear fatigue set in... The piece and my ears need a rest... again...  but it's getting there    ::dj::

Hola @1roomstudio

I think, by the sensations of my headphones, that your mix only needs your voice a little more present.
The guitars work is very good as well as their sound.
Your song has a classical accent that I like very much.
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

I really like this song @1roomstudio . And the electric guitar is a great addition. Consider sending it to a wide panned bus (maybe left) with a short delay (maybe 20ms or so) to spread it out.

You might even consider putting a stereo delay right on the track as an insert with something like 9ms L and 15ms R with different feedback times. That would push it to the back of the sound stage nicely. When I use delays like that I keep them pretty dry on the bus.........even as low as  15% -  20% wet or less sometimes.

The guitar is a nice addition @1roomstudio but I'm not sure about the mix.

I'm using headphones and my left ear hearing isn't great at times but for me, the vocals are quite low (and maybe towards the right?)

The guitars are quite loud and seem very much in the centre.

So I'm with @Mora Amaro La Loba I think the vocals needs a lot more presence as they are almost getting hidden by the instrumentation.

cheers

Thank you @Mora Amaro La Loba ... yes I was aware, at the last moment that the vocal had become background after bringing in the guitar... glad you liked the guitars!

Not sure what you mean be ďclassical accentĒ  .... but Iím pretty sure I like it 😎

Thank you @Leonard Scaper for the kind words... your suggestion is a bit technically over my head but I get the gist of it and I agree... letís see what I can do 😎

@Jurgen   You and Mora are spot on... Iíve got to bring the electric guitar down... and maybe more... I donít have the head room to raise the vocal... and yes some work with panning... itís getting there 😎
