Over the Scyllos Mountains (and Far Far Away...)
on: January 13, 2019, 19:01:11
Hi to all,
I've got this new track: https://soundcloud.com/martin_horky/over-the-scyllos-mountains. It's an instrumental flying song. I would be happy to read your thoughts and reviews.
Thanks
Martin

I love that sparse and light beginning and then how it develops that theme from there. Listening on the monitors in the studio after a day of recording and this really sounds excellent......a perfect way to clear my head and end my day.

liking the soundscape and mix. The beat might change after possibly 1.26 - to be more straight or driving after a certain point.

Very haunting, an exceptional atmospheric track.
If you like novels with a musical theme, why not try 'Sixth Beatle - When Music Changed The World', easily found on Amazon and Google. It is amazing, although as the author I may be biased!

Thank you for the reviews.
@oorlab : It's an interesting idea. I will think it through.
@Kajetan Zduniak : Some instruments are "real", some are transformed to midi, some are written directly in midi format. Guitars are mostly live, drums are midi. Other instruments are mixture of it all.

Slightly reminiscent of the Italian tradition of  Pistocchi and Piero Umiliani (to name a few)  to prove that trends in music are cyclical.
Took me two spinnings before I got the hang of it, but now I love it.
As an antidote to demanding music. Lovely music to cook and bake bread by.It leaves all kinds of things open. I can hum along, whether it makes sense or not.
Feed the bird, @dr_Shad !
Kind regards, Gus

@LePlongeur : Hi, thank you. As you mention Umiliani - the song is just a simple jazzrock inspired in 60s and 70s so the comparison to maestro Umiliani is great honour for me.

I hope you enjoy making music as much as I do. Thatís almost a guarantee that youíll be doing it for the rest of your life.
And as long as you share it, that music is sure to make me happy.

I like Italian music, the movie music and ballads, very much. So itís a compliment I really meant.
The best thing a songwriter or musician can hope for is to touch the listener, and thatís what you did. Great piece of work. Thatís what I think.
Go go go @dr_Shad !!!

Kind regards, Gus

It is a door that takes you to places that are very beautiful.
You have achieved it with this music by being able to transmit with it the landscapes of your fantasy.
Congratulations  ::thumb::

Stelvio cipriani?
And so far weíve only talked about instrumentals.
Ahhhh....,  you open up an old but still alive part of my heart.
Only four days before you posted  your song, iíve intensively listened to my heroes of the Italian (Appian) way.
One or two of these, and iíll call you a hero too!!!
Is there a chance weíll discus vocalists too??
Kind regards, Gus

I find your music very romantic, light, full of spaces although I miss some change of beat sound  in the rhythmic base.
Nice music!
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times
