Perfect

I wrote the lyrics for this song when I was 16. Itís about a girl who runs away from home.
I came up with a new melody for it yesterday. The original melody was a moody acoustic one.
This new one is a rock & roll!
Enjoy!

*I record my songs using GarageBand and an Irig 2 on my iPhone so the recording quality isnít studio quality*

Perfect

Girl in the hallway sheís only 14 before her looks begin to fade.
Man in the hallway drinking champagne so amused by these days.
Mummy & Daddy are quite upset about the way you said goodbye
Tomorrow by day lifeís in decay
But you had to be Perfect.

You walked away from everything you had
You turned your back and your so glad
Dawn of your life slips inside
Never to be seen again.
Until your ready thereís no way back
Because you had to be Perfect.

Cool guitar riff. The chorus reminds me of the Sex Pistols which is not a bad thing.
The lyrics could also be read to be about Brexit - or is that just my imagination running away with me?

You need a bassline pulse with a note on every beat to make this come alive just the root of the chord.
As @oorlab said this typical of something the Sex Pistols might have done.  Even the vocal style suggest this.

It took me back to being around 19 this one

@mazzmarriott I quite agree with @oorlab and @MrBouzouki's comments. If you record in Garageband, there must be ways to add a bass as well. If I am not mistaken, the app has a midi-approachable set of bass tones in it. But if you want to make it sound more truly punk based, so with a genuine bass, then you might want to ask one of the people in the Kitchen to play a bass track for you.

Yup as the others have mentioned, this does have a Pistols feel to it @mazzmarriott

It does need some bass and you can add this in garageband. I've used a normal guitar but with one of the built in bass amps and that's quite effective.

For me the guitar is a bit harsh sounding - I would prefer more bassy but maybe that's because there's no bass guitar.

cheers
