After we 'met' online in 2016 on Soundcloud, we made a song then called "Check it out" , and got 'back together' in 2019 which resulted in Remember the future.

The music of learningtoplay from Australia can be heard here

Lyrics:

Remember the future
That flows from the past
It's happening now, my friend,
I like it to last.

All like a future
That is going to last

I love this life I lead
free from war and strife
we all need to believe
we can share this life

Only with love is our future clear
only with love
Remember the future

forget religion, race and politics and class
free from our identities, just you and me
we’ll live a future fair and free
a future
that will last

Only with love

Although we didn't discuss this during the making of this song (we just made it sort of intuitively back & forth) I feel it has a secular gospel feel...
Any comment welcome.

I think the lyrics have a ‘keep on pushing’ feel. The Impressions I mean.

And the understated easy listening sounds of the backing are great.
Nice one guys!
Kind regards,Gus

Nice collab @oorlab and @learningtoplay . There is a ton of stuff to listen to in this production, all delicately and perfectly placed to keep the listener completely involved in the listening experience.

I love that guitar that comes in at around 2:00 and builds in such a cool way.

This has such a smooth and full vibe....fantastic work here. Listening again.

Cool idea with this retro futuristic style!  I like the tender in-and outgoing and the light and buoyant implementation in  a whole.

Cool song @oorlab and I like the whole feel - retro drum machine, semi spoken words and a great guitar.

And... get Learningtoplay on here - more Aussies can only be a good thing!  ;D

cheers

A little mystery in the vocals sometimes hiding behind those gently hypnotic instrumental layers- the overall effect is relaxing and unsettling at the same time.
I can hear some of the @oorlab whimsy coming through in a new form; a cool collaboration!

Hola @oorlab @learningtoplay

I liked it a lot, very special music and lovely lyrics, important lyrics despite its simplicity, that's how things should always be!!!

I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

Thanks for all the kind, supportive comments to @oorlab's post of our song. I was so pleased to be able to collaborate once again with Oorlab, after 'Check this out'. (https://soundcloud.com/oorlab/check-this-out-learningtoplay-oorlab-clip).

In both instances, I found his starting musical composition to be very evocative, though it took me some time to let it 'percolate' in my head, until I knew what was being evoked for me : ) Future retro? I like this concept. Secular gospel? Well, it did make me consider our 'dark future' and imagine a brighter vision. I love the hope and optimism in gospel music and I could feel that spirit in this music.

It was certainly a great pleasure to persist through the collaborative process once again with @oorlab.
