Save My Day (new song)
on: April 16, 2019, 20:06:21
Hi Mates,

First of all I want to say that I'm really glad with this forum. It's so great to share music and get feedback! Thanks for that!!  :ok:
I want to share my new song 'Save My Day'. It's a real feel good song.

Description of the song:  when you wake up with too much information in your head (again) and you need a hero for some distraction and to save your day!

You can listen it here: https://soundcloud.com/jellody/save-my-day-demo/s-VT1Uz

Every morning Itís hard to try
I drink my coffee to be stand by
Head full of nonsense, so you know
Today it will be my one-man-show

Every hour, itís hard to shine
I see the future all the time
Many problems, itís not the way
Maybe another can save my day

You saved my day day Oooo
You saved my day day Oooo

@Jellody - very pro sounding mix. Reminds me of Empire of the Sun. Indeed cool feel good vibe.
May be after 1.29 you can do some variation with lyrics / vocals.

Thank you so much! For me is Empire of the Sun a big compliment! :)

I agree with your suggestion about the lyrics / vocals from 1.29. Thanks!!

@Jellody hello! You certainly have a voice that is easy to listen to. This song has a nice easy going feel to it. I do like the ending, but I agree with @oorlab ...that some variation would help.  I feel the lyrics are like the beginning. I'm wondering "then what?" Very good start!!  :pompom:

When this music starts playing
A light has been created that fills everything
This music is very beautiful and highly positive

I love your song @Jellody, its light, its spirit.
You saved my day with your beautiful music hahaha

As for introducing some variation as indicated by @oorlab  and @Kellyanneg  of course it would be fine but anyway with or without variation I liked hearing you.

I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

::headphone:: Really digging this @Jellody

I think the overall mix, arrangement and vocals are all splendid, in fact - for a demo I wouldn't expect it to be this good even, sounding very tight  ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb::

However (which is fancy for "but"... but I overuse these "buts" so... never mind me, I'm from Sweden..)  there is something that is bothering me and that has not very much to do with the song itself... There is a mumbled sounding synth that is "doing it's own thing", kind of like a pad... it comes in at 00:09 (i.e. 9 seconds in...), exactly as the guitars kick in. When a second pad or synth enters it sounds okay, but by then I know it's present. I would (if it was me) make it "less" dominant in the background or make it play more in unison with the guitars, if that makes any sense... I get that you need to fill that sonic space, but I can't help it, it sticks out. Maybe lower its volume or make it less present or more, layer it with another synth... it just needs some attention (according to me at least).  :doublebonk:

Apart from that nagging about just "the one annoying pad", everything else is sounding absolutely fantastic and it's a great song! (PS. I also think it works with the current lyrics... not every song need more words.)

hi @Layerson ,

Thanks for your reply and feedback. I know what you mean about the annoying pad, maybe it's the volume of it.
I keep it in mind for the final version!

And thanks for the compliment!!  :ok:

@Jellody A nice and uplifting song, and I think that was just the idea when you wrote the words 'You Saved my Day'. A mission that is being accomplished when you listen.

I also agree with @oorlab and @Kellyanneg that some variation could make it stronger than it already is. Possibly a little melody that interacts with the song and that catches your ear for a couple of measures will do the trick - just wondering here.
