Selention
on: October 25, 2019, 21:44:35
Here is a new song https://soundcloud.com/oorlab/selention that had some longer gestation period than I usually take. The title was the result of two consecutive typos: I vistied a concert of a band called Poetica in Silentio, where a friend typed on this phone Poetica in Selentio - which at home wanted to use for this song, but then I mistyped it to Selention.

Selention

Warts & all
I was caught by surprise:
Tell me, tell me,
Where have you gone?
I am listening now,
To your song -
Listening still,
Listening here.
Selention.

Drifting drifting
on the sea,
Tides are turning
between you & me.
I wanted to go
To a better place.
But I'm still
on that chase.

Come on lover
The sun is here
The clouds are gone
and have no fear.
Let's do this dance,
Nothing to loose.
Life is a gift
if you so choose.
Selention

There's a change
in the wind.
It's falling right
from above.
Stand the ground
that we have found.
Don't cut me loose
don't let me drift
Selention

In the track I used a recently acquired VST called SynthMaster from KV331 https://www.kv331audio.com/ - a synthesizer developer based in Turkey.

Hola @oorlab

Your song has made me dance, sitting but dancing with my mind, arms open, spinning, a summer dance.

I really liked this "
I wanted to go
To a better place.
But I'm still
on that chase"  ::thumb::

the style of music is so ... nice, not tired of listening to it!

May be the voice would need more reverb?
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

Hey @Mora Amaro La Loba  - thanks for your kind words. A summer dance in autumn :-)  :-* yes - I can put more reverb on the vocals sure. Let me get back to that.

Hi @oorlab

Really interesting to read how you came up with the title - and it's a good word!

Would suit a band name playing this style of music.

When it started I wasn't sure if I'd like it as I'm not always into the electronic sounding songs  but as with other electronic sounding songs I hear from the Kitchen it grew on me.

Part of the reason is the great tremolo guitar and and also the slide playing - really nice.

I always like a vibrato sounding guitar!

And the vocals and melody are strong as well.

Great stuff!

cheers

Really nice production @oorlab ... I love the changes in color in the arrangement and the slight shifts in the bass and synth parts. It kept me snapping Imaginary fingers. 👌
