sicker by Harriet Tornqvist
on: December 01, 2019, 02:27:33
i have realised that i am not very good at letting things be; accepting that things will happen as they happen, and letting them lie where they fall.

instead, i try to have everything at once, even the things that i dont want or need, or that need to be let go.

this leads to a push and pull of emotions; drawing in and pushing away. this idea is the premise of the 'sicker' metaphor.

(also looking for collaborators who would like to make bubblegum pop-y tracks for my songs)

@harriettornqvist What a wonderful vocal! It is quite reminiscent of some of the Lady popstarts that crowded the end of the 90s, such as Edie Brickell, and Kristin Hersh. I think you're quite on a par with them.
Pleudoniem: composer; bass guitarist; guitarist; singer; drummer; tap-guitarist - o, and yes... erm- a bit of keys. Open for collabs.

Super songwriting @harriettornqvist ... lyrics, structure, arrangement and performance.  Very Pro! And your voice is charming and intimate. The delivery a bit wry but very real.

Nice work!

I agree with @Pleudoniem 's comparison of your singing and vocal persona to some of those greats.

I love how the instrumentation moves this song along. I really look forward to your material @harriettornqvist .

I really like the composition and the synths you chose for this song. The guitar is doing an excellent job of carrying the rhythm of the song.

As for the vocals, I think they sounded great, starting at about 1:35 in to the song. The EQ on those vocals is slightly better suited to your voice.  I would suggested making the entirety of the vocal sound like that.

Finally: Add some more harmonies! This is a fun vocal line to sing and lends itself to some more voices singing it. Think Billie Eilish type harmony.

Great song, keep it up.
