Pushed the wrong button. Small blue lettering on a black background I guess.
So I'll post it where it should be posted. My apologies.

kind regards, Gus

Should I post it in the same thread @LePlongeur ? Or should we start a new one each time?

I fired up page of the song, and before I had even pressed play... Alternative Shoegaze...

Is that when a bunch of shy guys, gazing their shoes, wobble around the dancefloor like a flock of penguins?
That sounds all too much like the guys at my department at work, at any public event were dancing is involved, or rather I think they would flee out of the ballroom.  But, they would like to listen to this song in their headphones.  :doublebonk:

It made me want to sway in sync with the music, and I like it. Entertaining entry @LePlongeur

@Layerson

Alternative
REM
The Smiths
This Mortal Coil
Sonic Youth

To name but a few.

Shoegaze
Pearls before Swine (Thomas Rapp + Elisabeth)
Jesus and the Mary Chain
DIIV

Just examples.

As a rule: slightly imperfect guitar oriented  or guitar dominated music.
Itís not a moniker I have made up. In my case itís there for over 50 years.
But if want to call it something else? Be my guest.
Thank you for your interest.
Kind regards, Gus

I love the composition and blend of smooth instruments with the overdriven guitar. It creates a bittersweet contrast, with the overdriven guitar giving a bit of edge and angst to it. I really like the track and the concept, I would personally lessen the delay that you have on the vocals.

I am a songwriter, @Theodorekidd . Not a performer or producer.
I write the lyrics, attach the lyrics to the cord of my mike and start recording. As I do, I find my way through a new song. Itís born as I record. Hence the numerous imperfections.

This goes for my voice too. Losing many of the higher notes, losing control over the lower once; itís all a part of my age. For me anyway.
The doubling and slap back brings back some of the substance that used to be there.

But I wonít complain. Still around and having a lot of fun writing new songs.

There are quite some things I would do differently if I were to re-record it. But as long as new songs are beckoning, I listen to my sirens.

Thank you for listening and commenting.
Lovely avatar you have by the way.
Great find.
Kind regards, Gus

@LePlongeur - super song. Claw Boys Claw meets BZN. There is definitely a Volendam-vibe to this.
Do you play the drums?

A great take on a waltz, it  has already been referenced  to various artists, but musically it puts me in mind of crazy horse (Neil Young).  In truth it is probably uniquely you,  I will look forward to listening to more of your music to find out.  Anyway love the lyrics which are good fun.

Do you play the drums?

In an urban setting, playing the drums is not the way to enhance the social fabrics of the neighborhood.
And much to my regret, as I love to play the drums.
This song:
Bass drum and snare were programmed in Ďsuper metronome Ď I believe itís called.
All cymbals were finger drummed in Ďrhythm padí.
Plus a tambourine. The cymbals and the bass and snare drums were done simultaneously. Played the super metronome bit as I added the cymbals.

Iíve been accused of drunken lyrics and BZN. Serves me right for calling this forum too vanilla.
Kind regards, Gus

Apart from three LPís by the Buffalo Springfield, there are no Neil Young things in my cupboard. That much is true.
But yes, I envy the Ďsimpleí fact that he started off in 1966 and is still making relevant music. Talking about craftsmanship.

And I am afraid that lyrics like this one are a recurring theme in my music. Itís very much a love it or hate it thing and I am glad you liked this one.
Thank you for listening.
Kind regards, Gus

Well @LePlongeur  you have certainly taken the popular vote!

.... but you have to make it past the electoral college ...... that's always the trick.

Good show!

Music is awesome!  ;D :ok:  .. and the subject matter well ....   :P

Here you surprise me with an expression I canít precisely place. I have to make it past the electoral college???
I believe I never made it to the top 3 in da Kitchenís challenges, so my expectations are moderate. If thatís what you mean.

When travelling, I collect subjects for next yearsí songs and so far it seems like mellowing down a bit. I tend to look at it from the positive side: Iím the only one here writing about this side of ballrooming. That should count for something???
I thank you for braving it out. 5í12Ē of the other side of this horrible pass time.
Kind regards, Gus

Well by popular vote, @LePlongeur  , I meant this thread has been viewed almost 900 times!!!!

Wow!    :o

.... but winning the popular vote isn't always a win.

But if you do win you are the best man.

Ahhh...., that what that expression means. I didnít get around to looking it up. Thank you for the explanation.

I only brag if I am really proud of something. And I am truly proud of my views.
When it comes to voting I am nowhere as a rule.
But when the amount of views are counted, I alway do very very well.
The song Montyís Blather that I made with Montyís lyrics, posted with her permission on a Dutch Guitaristsí forum was listened to 2,544 times last year. A verifiable amount. When fora were larger and more dynamic, I have drawn a multiple amount.

Itís not for the public alone @Bill from November Sound , but itís always a nice thought that there are people listening.
There is a collab under way with @Katze Konigsberg that will be posted here when I am back home. If all goes well here, I will ask here permission to post it among the H. guitarists. And wheelsee what happens.

And wheelsee what happens with Spin the bottle in the votes too. The max of 3 points spread hits and misses so thinly, that everyone is not a winner and not a loser too.
Also in this aspect my personal view is that this forum is too vanilla.
I know itís just an opinion, but itís my opinion.
Kind regards, Gus
