Even before hearing your voice I knew this would've been a great song!
It conveys a really powerful message but in a way that is gentle like a breeze  :)
Thanks for sharing this little gem with us  :)

Hi @nicetalkintoya, I've never been really a fan of Dylan but I think Lenny had the right of it when he talked about the poetry of the lyrics .
I always think of Dylan as a poet first and artist second  but in your case you are the whole package.

Some particular favourite lines of mine are :-

"When your fighting fists have failed you
And you're waylaid by the din"

"It's not the gnashing of your teeth
Or anger in your voice
It's not the fancy words you preach
Or even your own choice"

A nice piece of work this and some sublime guitar picking leaves the words raw and exposed for all to hear.

@sully  Thanks for saying it, man!

@Clanik92   And, thank you for listening and commenting!

@MrBouzouki  That was something to read.  Really appreciate it!  Never been compared in any way to Dylan, so that's an honor in itself.  Thanks for sharing what lines you like most.

@Dutchbeat  You commented as I was typing the above, and the system 'warned' me to review the post before I replied. lol  Thanks  a lot for the kind feedback!

I have slipped over to this thread during my own mix session today to use your tune as a bit of a reference for my vocals. I just want to get a taste of the space you have imparted.
"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper

@Leonard Scaper  Nice!  I'll pass that along to the guy who mixed this tune, as I can't take credit for that space!  ;)  I look forward to hearing what you're working on!

 :)

Where did you track this excellent recording? Do you have your own space or did you track in a purpose built room?

Actually, you know what I did?  I converted a walk-in closet to a recording booth!  I used some blankets and other materials for sound treatment.  I wish I had thought to do that a long time ago!  But, now I know what to do for future recordings! :)

Unique voice!  and the doubling suits it.  I'd put harmonies that swell on the last few words of each of the lines and fall away before the start of the next, maybe just on the last verses so the song grows. It's a good quiet reflection tune and the melody is already sticking with me as I write this.

Congrats on a great booth! You'll do well with what you've got.
