The Moon Is Alone
on: April 29, 2020, 11:23:53
Hi all! Back in the kitchen....
So here is the very first draft of a song I wrote during the Super Pink Moon night.
I'm without a good vocal mike (I use Yeti here), recording in my container in Portugal. But my partner in Mongolia (Baidrag) has access to all he needs for arranging.  Next: redo the vocals with a better mike and have my friend (Noel Mendez) in the Philippines record lead guitar. And I asked a Dutch friend in Washington DC ( Jorn Swart) to add some piano.
Your suggestions welcome!

@Rogier I am smiling. What a beautiful song. You bring the moon to life. I feel I am listening to an acoustic Beatles track. Thanks for sharing.

@Rogier what a wonderful song! I would really be hesitant to ad much instrumentation. It is so beautiful in its present form. The acoustic guitar does it all. Over the moon!. Of course you can work on this version but keep it as 'simple' as it is. Like @GaryHynes I had a sensation of listening to an acoustic Beatle song, but let's not compare because yours is absolutely marvellous in its own right. Bravo!

Yes I agree @Charlie . Definitely original and unique song. Beatles in the sense that it is real. Although songs like Blackbird and Julia come to mind, but just in terms of style. It's @Rogier All the way.

I also agree with @Charlie that this song is perfect as it is. This is just a wonderfully delicate and positive song.

Thanks so much for posting it @Rogier .

I agree with @Charlie except for the Beatles referral.
Which Beatles?
This is shoegaze in its purest form.
Do you really want to have it sung by someone else? Please make sure that it's kept small and lovely. None of this curbing or belting allowed if it were my song.

Djeez, I wish it were my song.
@Rogier

kind regards, Gus

Wow! Thanks guys for all the praise...

I tried it in another key, but it didn't work. I'm was also unable to capture the feeling again. Weird, how that works...

I do want to try a lead acoustic guitar, maybe for the intro, the instrumental part and the outro.

Should I keep the violins?
