Hi Kitcheners!

Time for a string of new songs in a plethora of different genres by me and Stanfield @smajor that has been held back by other songs for a while, some up to a year old by now and this is one of them:

facing the eternity of time

Some live inside the White House
some suffer in a dive

I've seen too many strut out
filled up with their conceit
can't even see the people
struggling at their feet

I liked a lot your song! Lyrics are very well rhymed..  I love the change of voice color from 1'40 approx.
Your voice has that special touch that fits perfectly for this dark, tribe style,

It’s very well rhymed, think that too. Stan often has a way of making lyrics super easy to sing. 

I thought it needed a high pitch voice for contrast and I’m happy you liked that part. It has one of Logic’s built in vocal tracks effect on it called “Leslie” (I think it was at least) and that gives it a good vibrant touch.

I’m using Logics presets and audio samples exclusively for this song. It’s one of those songs that kinda wrote itself

I like a well written "big picture" song with sharp lyrics @Layerson  & @smajor . Doomy , but the  change in vocal pitch and style is very good,; the mood lightens (  harmonies are well done too).
You guys make  an excellent team

I like your description, it fits the song much better than electronic. Definitely more a “big picture” song.

Thank you all for the positive comments.

I agree with you Robert... that Micke and I make a great team. Not only do we work well together, but we're also good friends (despite being many miles apart).

For various reasons I've been dropping the ball lately. It means a lot to me to know that Micke has been keeping things going in my absence.

The lyrics of @smajor  the beautiful painting on canvas turned into a three dimensional mass sculpture of colors swirling through space and time! @Layerson you gave these words a voice and I don't just mean good vocals …. I mean the song is alive! I love it!

With time and some distance to it, I think it’s a great song too. Feels like a year is a long time, but it’s gone by fast and I feel it’s very complete despite my increased mixing knowledge.( I’m super happy for the excellent feedback, can’t find the words really)

Re release: We are planning a release in the very near future, I’ll be sure to inform you when it’s up next in the pipeline. (We are planning to release a couple of other songs too, think it is second in queue.)

Just catching up after our choir concerts ... wow this is a cracking (Yorkshire-ism :- very good) track.

It reminds of Bowie in his Low period ... it has that Berlin vibe to me.

Hats off to both of you .

 

I enjoy the spurs of Yorkshire-ism and that you’re comparing it with the periodic works of Bowie, he is iconic and a great influence musically @MrBouzouki 

I’m actually wearing a hat or a headpiece nowadays so I return the gesture by nodding it with my cupped hand, with my deepest respect.  (...sadly I couldn’t find a better emoji... my hat looks different...)

You’re probably spot on with the influence. I could say I was always a hardcore metal fan but that’s not true. It all started for me with music in the 80s and one of the big (secret) idols were Depeche and I even got a keytar at on time. I’ve journeyed trough a bunch of different genres by now, but I actually listened to them today on vinyl. So they’re not that far off and there might be a subconscious influence there. (My wife keeps telling me to make “some good music” again, she’s not all that into metal. There’s gonna be more of synth in my future productions...  )
