"Time For The Gunpowder"

A slightly tongue in cheek ditty, not so much "about" Brexit, but more about the impasse in the parliament, caused by the majority of the  voters wanting to leave the E.U but a majority of the people they voted for  wanting to stay....
Dakoda.

ďTime For The GunpowderĒ
words and music by: Dakoda Sada
vocals: Dakoda Sada

the news from the BBC
today in the UK
elected MPís decided to completely ignore
the vote of the people
democracy was forcibly restrained
after being wrestled to the ground
by the speaker of the house
later in hospital democracy cried
she was leaving and never coming back

she ainít never coming back
canít trust the news these days
they said she had a heart attack

when you canít shout any louder
then itís time for the gunpowder
when you canít shout any louder
then itís time for the gunpowder
violence, violenceÖ.

Put on your Sunday best
violence is all thatís left
the speaker of the parliament said today
that, as he is
the most important man in the country
he was perfectly entitled to
make it up as he went along
and that while impartiality
used to be a job requirement
his role had sinceÖ evolved

the leader of the opposition said today
he had received a letter from a
whistleblower at the BBC and although
they had , had three years to scare
the pants off the public
they needed more time

Put on your Sunday best
violence is all thatís left
when you canít shout any louder
then itís time for the gunpowder
when you canít shout any louder
then itís time for the gunpowder
violence, violenceÖ.
I prefer poisoner to fish chef...

@Dakoda

what a well crafted song, really like the intro to verses
over here we have "crap going on, so I think we need this
music, its important expression for many.
I don`t know about the gunpowder, but the music?  good work.
[just my thought]     Lane

Good to hear from you again @Dakoda . This one definitely has a lot of your signature production goodness along with a strong message that is ripped right from the headlines.

Thanks for the kind words @Lane  and @Leonard Scaper   :)

I've played this one live "once", so far, it was at the height of when it was all happening (in real life , ha)
the audience reaction was , interesting!..... the room seemed to be divided down the middle regarding the songs sentiment
so there were some very enthusiastic supportive reactions and an equal number of the opposite!
The atmosphere was kind of surreal.  A bit like playing a punk rock concert in an old peoples home ha!  :D
Dakoda.

I like it a lot that you willingly/unwillingly bumped this one. What on earth the reason was that it completely escaped my attention???
Well anyway, a much needed sound from the UK. To judge mr. Borisí hairdo, the gunpowder went off when I wasnít looking.
Great song @Dakoda. I very late, I must admit, liked it on the SoundCloud.

I hear that the NPO (Dutch BBC so to speak) have a vancancy and they are looking to recruit a news reader.
Kind regards, Gus

Missed this first time around @Dakoda - its catchy enough to have me bopping along to that gunpowder call to arms chorus...mostly against my will
The arrangement works well - maybe I`d have preferred a less affected announcer`s voice (or even a real clip from your very funny House Speaker!)
Don`t let the Yellow Vests hear this, they would take it literally.

You are playing with gunpowder @Dakoda ... LOL

.... as an older, Northern voter who voted to not leave the EU and all it's benefits, I am probably at odds with quite a few people in my neck of the woods. Suffice it to say, it doesn't surprise me that your live audience was divided. Unfortunately,  this genie won't ever go back in the box now, despite Boris hoping it will.

Song-wise it's got all your trademarks and moves on at just the right pace.

As I am a big New Order and Vince Clarke lover, you fit very well  in this row, more developed. You are great!

Cheers @Dakoda making a song for that (what is it 52 to 48 split?) political divide. I'd love to see vide os of you performing live honestly! It doesn't have to be this song.  :)
This track is really cool! Great production work,  cool synth lines and it's actually pretty catchy. Of course a happy little tune about violent revolt might not be the best thing. :)
