"To die is like loving" older song of mine

To fill this forum a bit I decided to post an older song of mine.First version is only my guitar and me and for the second version someone added a few instruments as a band version.Hope you like both.

I really like your voice you know , it has a nice tone

I think this is excellent , the chord development is very nice - I listened to the band version - it's first class - sounds like a real band

And the voice doubling in the chorus is really strong

I told you my friend don't run for tribute is a great line

Hi Alexander,

This is my favourite of yours.
The additional instruments really add something. They provide a solid framework for your style of vocal. The only minor thing I'd raise is that some appear, then disappear, never to be heard again - feels a little like you've thrown the kitchen sink at it. Here's a organ, here's a dobro. I'd perhaps use one, or both, but have them working together, even if they are pushed right back.
That said, i really like it. It keeps you interested with its ebb and flows. Nicely dark. And the switch to double vocals is really good.

Hey Alexander,

I've said before and here I go gain - your acoustic guitar recording is fantastic.  For me, you achieve a better acoustic guitar recording than any of us. Wonderful.  You have a unique voice too.  I think that that your songs would slowly reveal their magic to the listener with repeated listens but they cleverly draw the listener in from the first listen, persuading him/her to want to hear more.  I love your music!

oh, on this song, i can hear additional female aaaaah aaaah aaahs....  at certain parts to make it even bigger...but what an arrangment you have here, and what a song!!!! Thanks for sharing this

Thanks for the compliments but as I told its only my song my guitar and my voice.The rest was added from a nice guy who lives in the near.I did a second projekt with him and when you are all polite i will share it with you.
He is a very good musician and may I have the chance to work with him again.

Very cool song, Alexander! 

I find it hard to decide which version I like better...

The guitar only version sounds a lot more intimate and shines a light on both the excellent (and at times unusual) chord progression and your guitar playing, which sounds VERY good to me.
Seriously, the chord progression is awesome, great writing!

But then there's the full band version, and quite frankly, the arrangement and choice of instrumentation is fantastic! My compliments to your friend!

I like both versions a lot, can't think of any criticism either...

  Yeah...cool song, has style    Reminded me a bit of Zappa, don't know why....think it might be the arrangement.
 
  Loved the character in your voice and delivery....unique and captivating.

  I preferred the the organ to the dobro/banjo (not sure ) and would agree with Digger about choosing one instrument
  and sticking with it....but that's taste

  Btw...thought the drummer sounded good, doesn't want any work does he??

Was really great to hear a band version from you just get an idea of what one of your songs would sound like with a full production. 

I was not disappointed. This was really good. You put it all together without compromising your identifiable style. Especially loved it when the organ a came in. Very well done.

The whole song was a great listen.

but this time turned it around, i let you do the pace and we follow, and it seriously sound excellent, well that is  what i think
