You sing with a lot of passion and this has a really nice melody.  ::headphone::

A great song and I easily could imagine it in more context (...which is something I often do: adding string parts in my mind, maybe an harmonica would work and then just letting the imagination run wild, it would make for a song on a bigger stage as a bigger arrangement... but thatís just how I hear it).

Iím not a singer myself but Iíve learned one thing or another and one important  is not to sit down whilst singing energetically. It puts even more strain on the neck and makes proper breathing even harder, so itís kinda advanced singing. Think most people benefit from standing up.

Another thing that was pointed out earlier is not to sing with your chin raised, pull the microphone down so itís parallel or below your mouth if possible. :sleepy:

I could hear some Jagger in your voice and thatís cool, sounding good in this song but personally I think you should also try to sing more like you do in the more low intensity parts. If you dial down the high energy your voice will sound really good (I hear small bits of it, in between the more intense parts so itís definitely there).

Keep the good stuff coming  ::headphone::

I agree with others @realkevm - lyrically this is the best song I`ve heard from you ::thumb::
You`ve already had tons of feedback on the vocals. I did notice the mic position is better on the live take. I also noticed that standing , maybe combined with having an audience, makes for  less motion around the mic.
This is a keeper- would love to hear it with that harp/arrangement @Layerson suggested.

Hi @realkevm

Well done - good lyrics and I liked the intro a lot.

Plenty of emotion and feeling in your voice as well.

The live version is also really good.

cheers

Thanks guys
@Layerson When I get to record this in a proper studio with an engineer I do picture it as having strings and being a big production. You're correct about standing to sing better, I do when practicing just for some videos I like to sit down, especially if it's a slower song. Thank you so much for the kind and helpful feedback :)

@robertkc Thanks man and thanks for checking out both versions :)

@Jurgen Cheers my man, really appreciated.

I've got another song on here called 'Come With Me' it's more of a rock tune and i'd love to hear you guy's thoughts on it

I do believe that this is the first multi-tracked production I have heard from you. Multi-tracking is both a good and a bad thing.  ;)

Live recordings are filled with energy and in the moment. When you track live we are just watching you play and listening to the song. But with a multi-track recording like this we also start listening to the production.

You'll have to let us know how much critique you want on the production aspects now that you have stuck your head into that rabbit hole and begun the journey down into its endless twists and turns.  ;D
"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper

Very interesting @realkevm and I also like @Leonard Scaper comments.

Having this as a "produced" song means we listen very differently.

For me, this lacks some of the energy of the other recording of the song - and it sounds like you've recorded the guitar and then the vocals.

But I'm also intrigued by how much critique you're looking for re: the production and this new version.

cheers

Thanks @Leonard Scaper and @Jurgen well i'm using a digital multitrack recorder, I can't for the life of me figure out how to use a DAW..the song has the main acoustic rhythm track, a bass track, percussion (a stomp pedal!) and a vocal track which has reverb (hall) and double voiced :)
