Words were just a lie...
on: March 08, 2020, 06:59:45
« Last Edit: March 08, 2020, 09:54:18 by Robby »
Iíve been doing this for a few decades, I  have some really nice instruments, and Iíve learned to play a few pretty well. I have a studio (cakewalk) in the living room. Guitars, bases, mics, pres, etc. collected over the years. Mostly covers these days, a few dozen originals, some collaborations.

One I wrote, itís a little dark...

Love is something weíve all known, but few of us have... itís there for an instant, and then itís gone. We try to get it back, sometimes to no avail...

Dancin daily with your Demonds
Searchin slowly for the reasons
Why
Words were just a lie

You were never more than just a smile away
But sometimes smiles are just to hard to stay
Why...
Words were just a lie

Movin through my memorIes like the wind moves through the sky
Why...

Yesterday and tomorrow...

Like a promise never made and never kept but somehow broken
Words so bitter sweet and true but somehow words were never spoken?
Why....

Cause the words were just a lie.

Movin through my memorIes like the wind moves through the skies
Why...
Words were just a lie...
Yesterday and tomorrow...

A moody piece, indeed!
I will listen again tomorrow.

And I would like to ask you two things, if I may:
I would appreciate it if you would post the lyrics too, so I can listen and read at the same time.
And I would like it a lot if you would take the time to write an introduction in ĎMeí. Quality of this level never simply drops out of the sky.

Thanks a lot.
Kind regards, Gus

Thanks man, mostly covers these daze... but I get the creative bug from time to time. I thought I had it recently? But it turned out to be Covid-19.

I found this a nice warm jazz mix. The sax was a real asset in this one. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed listening.

Thanks Tim. Normally Iím saxually frustrated, but I made an exception here. And came out of my shell. The sax is Samplemodeling.com with a breath controller. Those Italian boys make good products. ďSome call me Tim...Ē

This sounds fantastic @Robby . The sax really is good but the whole song works for me. There are some very subtle things that really make this song.....some of the percussion stuff and the delays on "Why" for instance.

It's good to see you again, man.  ;)

Thanks so much guys. Iím very pleased that you all enjoyed it. I must say my traditional style is more old school R&R/Country/Pop, but itís fun to take on something different and getting out of your comfort zone. A fellow producer helped with some of the production elements (Tim Bowman, very talented) itís always good to get a take on your stuff from someone else you respect.
