Butterflies

I saw their show
So full of love
One kissed my nose
And I took off

Our allotment garden
Butterflies in my belly
Give me the butterflies anytime
As thereís nothing on the telly

Br
I wish we could be butterflies
So unaware of COVID
We could kiss - madly in love
No one would think something of it

Ch
Butterflies
They seem a happy lot
Butterflies
No lack of self worth
Butterflies
A blessing for the plants
Butterflies
A strange birth

Safety is our objective
So we saw off your left leg
In Dutch we donít have cutlery
We simply use bestek

A  butterfly isn't handicapped
What without hands and feet
Everyone loves butterflies
ĎCause butterflies are sweet

W16okt2020

The strangest decisions are made with covid as the only justification.
A Ďpromptí for me to justify using butterflies in connection with covid.

Thank you R. for a lovely prompt.

EDIT:
Yesterday evening I recorded the song:

There seems to be some misunderstanding here.
I'd rather be a Butterfly instead having to put up with all this about COVID.

Enjoy!!!
kind regards, gus

Whoah nice work @LePlongeur  !

That's cool how you got that from the picture.

..... from Bill .... the guy who is actually kind of nice.  :D
Bill
Songwriter, Keyboards, Arranger, Producer & Engineer for November Sound

November Sound is based on the Mother, Father & Son musical trio of Melissa, Bill & Will. I'm the father so anything I post will have my wife singing and/or my son playing percussion.

Thank you @Bill from November Sound
Actually a very nice guy, I believe my words were.
And a very very good sax player, as you've shown in Jardin d'hiver for @Mylene

And I am not convinced that there's another one along the line for me. It's been difficult enough as it is with this prompt.
I am curious what the collective will make of it.

thanks @LePlongeur , and thanks @Rachel_D

i had no association with Covid like @gus, but i was fascinated by these sandbags on the Balloon....

so i came up with this for this:

Dropping them

The climb was full of risks
steep cliffs, dangerous twists
but the view from the crater was stunning
but a rumble made me running
a storm was clearly coming

hurrying down, lighting struck next to me
the rain made the rocks wet and slippery
ouch, there goes my knee, yes, itís a sprain
limping down now, i am in full pain
on this normally extremely hot and dry terrain
it seems like snakes like to come out here in the rain  :-\

But finally down safe.. I felt i needed to brag!
so I was about to create a #DB_volcanotop!# Hashtag!!!
when out of nowhere...i was hit by a sandbag.

Nice one @Dutchbeat

I'd rather be a butterfly than a sandbag, but then a sandbag has more impact.

I hope you'll turn it into a song; a surprising tale...
like it a lot!

Perhaps a bit overkill, as I have mentioned it as an edit.
Yesterday evening I recorded the song:

@Dutchbeat  .... love your surprise ending there!

"Ohh sandbag!?" rip. Song's over.

Wow @LePlongeur that's incredible!

You make these songs so fast and this one is really, really good. Great hook! The harmonies are awesome! Love th joyful guitars.

Hearing sing it also I got the rhyme of "covid" and "of it" ..... it wouldn't have  rhymed the way I say it.  ;D

@LePlongeur & @Dutchbeat

...it's interesting how you focused on different aspects of the picture -the butterflies and the sandbag!

@LePlongeur - wow that was fast! A whole song with words and music! I like the chorus :)

@Dutchbeat - that's some great storytelling! It's amazing how you got that from the picture!

Thank you, Bill. I must admit itís bluff. I expect to pronounce COVID like this (and to rhyme Ďof ití), but Iím not sure. If I am mistaken, I will do a poetic license trick.
When writing it doesnít hurt to be a bit bold.

@Rachel_D
Yes! Thatís exactly the fun of it. No matter on what level or with what intention, everyone highlights other aspects of the prompt. And butterflies is in line with me being a romantic at heart.

I am very curious about what youíll make of it.

@LePlongeur - Thanks for your message, I did not realise that the person who provides the prompt needs to post a piece as well.... so here goes:
at the moment I'm  passing through a word-less phase and I do not really have words worth sharing (the real-life world news is at times sucking away my thoughts leaving me with a myraid of gloomy words which are not befitting to this picture)... However, I do get a certain feeling / aura / melody when I look at the picture. So I sat at my keyboard and jotted this very rough sketch - a melody without words. This is what the picture sounds like in my mind :) : https://soundcloud.com/rachel_debattista/afloat-prompt-writing/s-2JBq8OO5MH5

you see that as a peaceful scene, the picture you placed as a prompt

i was more focussed on the dangers, the sand bags, the potential crash, in or on...the vulcano, the storm coming in.... :-X :-X :-X

no really

sounds good  ::headphone:: ::headphone:: ::headphone::

Wherever we live, the social or economical fabric of society requires a certain reaction to certain words or expressions someone else doles out. Polite or socially acceptable behavior is the cement of our society. This (prompt writing thing) is exempt from required structures.

You donít HAVE to post anything. Not on your own prompt. Not on somebody elseís.
And if you post something, itís not ruled by what is required.
Post a comment, a schetch, a poem, a song, a painting or, what you did, an instrumental.

If things at home need your attention or if you are totally not inspired by the prompt, you simply say: Iíll pass. No need for explanations or anything.
But between the two of us, I hope you will Ďpassí as little as possible.
Your piano piece already got some compliments. I would like to add mine @Rachel_D
