Wow, @Mo , that sure was a prompt response  :D :D
Poor animal, though...  :-[

I used to laugh at the laughing cow
Now she stares at me and whispers "how now?"
She can laugh at me as she takes a bough
Oh, the chickens have come home to roost

I used to think how I was contented
A label on a can, but the can was dented
And now I find there's never an incentive
For the chickens have come home to roost

Jethro had a milk-cow in one of my schemes
He's crying over spilt milk now, or so it seems
Just one more of my cheese-fuelled dreams
And the chickens have come home to roost

Eight maids a-milking on a Christmas card
Ten empty bottles a-standing in the yard
That incey-mincey spider made  my life so hard
Now the chickens have come home to roost

How now? How now?
Waiting for the cows to come home
How now? How now?
I'm waiting for the cows to come home

Today I'm only one day older. Do you think my hair's turned grey?

I was convinced I posted a reply, but it has taken the wrong turn on the electronic motorway.

Is it rally true that children are not allowed to sit on this cow?
That’s pure cruelty.

We do it differently. We mistreat all our animals equally cruel, but we encourage our children to be happy.
So are so happy, they don’t ever want to stop.

Froukje (girl’s name) has two passions in her life.
Alcohol and horses.

My intention with this post, is only to make this thread light and playful again and not as a work, prompted by the prompt.

Enjoy!
Kind regards, Gus

Swiss Cow - About Niki too

I am reminded of Niki
giardino dei tarocchi
her father's abuse didn't get her
the solvents did, if you ask me

Yes, I made Fantasio's bar
exactly the way Niki did
I went home on my motorcycle
next day I didn't remember it

Know that it was an addiction
made life size mothers giving birth
at some stage she was modelling too
I wonder what it's really worth

br
I've seen her works in Italy
I've seen her works in France
I've never seen a Swiss Cow dancing
but happycow.net gave us a chance

Ch
A cow's a domestic bovine
and - regardless of sex and age -
no compassion with farm animals
we put them in a cage

Dist
Cowed, 't happens to everyone, cows
far too nervous to read their vows

I haven't been the best posting for the last few ...
I'm busy trying to finish an album by the end of November  ... for obvious reasons  ;)  And a big project at my house.....

This is a work in progress but I at least wanted to show you I'm trying.

@LePlongeur @Dutchbeat @Mo @Michael @DonMar @redmando @Rachel_D   .... see I'm trying guys.  :)

It started as a joke but it's actually turning into real song now I think. That would by minus my Nederlands baby talk in the verses. Melissa probably wouldn't sing it. I thought it was funny.  :D I think I will keep working on this but I don't want to hold up the prompt writing game.  :ok:

vs:
Ik schrijf de woorden maar ik zing niet.
All must know these words repeat.
Ze hebben koeien, maar ik niet.
All must know this cow is no seat.

pre-ch:
When the colors fade to grey
what will the horned centurion say?

ch:
Put a fence around it we can charge admission then.
The cattle they will roam free. Not "if" but "when".
All the beauty of nature, no, it shouldn't be free.
Some see God's perfect world: others opportunity.

--- all I got so far   ;D

Whoa @Bill from November Sound !!!
Bi lingual no less.
One Dutch and one US hat off!
And...., two ex.tra kudos.
Or three if nessisary.

Scary nessisary. They don’t approve of the word but don’t bother to come forward with suggestions.
Lazy lot. Unlike you. The man who works really hard.
Kind regards, Gus

So I have to learn Dutch to play this game? Impressive @Bill from November Sound ! Despite working for a Dutch company for 5 years I never managed to pick up much of the language.

Good luck with the album Bill - can't wait to hear it.

Thats so cool see you all are busy with the swiss cow :D ::thumb::

I would love to hear your try of singing dutch line!
Even I live compareable very close to the dutch country i hardly would dare to try singing even not write in dutch! Thats bold @Bill from November Sound .

The way you always able to weave the prompt into personal stories is impressive @LePlongeur, I wasn't able to hear your track until now  just read the words but i will do soon and I really look forward to that.

I like your style you wrote the cow poem @redmando, it does funny pictures!  ;D
Were you hungry when you wrote it?

Hi everyone,

It’s great to see your responses -  you are really fast!

@ Michael – wow that scenery is really beautiful! The cow has such an amazing view! :)
… lately I’ve been under a very dark cloud with all that is happening in the world and though when I first looked at the picture I felt a positive / amusing message, when I sat to write I ended up looking at it from a rather pessimistic angle – the fact that the cow is all alone, with a fixed view, waiting and stuck in the same place …and if it weren’t a sunny day it would be left helpless alone in the middle of a storm unable to find shelter. She’s gazing far but she can never reach what she sees etc. etc.
…so as much as I wanted to create a serene and happy melody, it ended up all melancholic – 2020 is to blame….

Wonderfully done @Rachel_D
Beautiful vocals and melodies.
As I wrote there (finally got the connection working) I gave you my heart. Electronically of course.
But yes, I agree will Dutchbeat. There are happy surprises all over the place.
And already many many reads and listens. Now we're starting getting someplace!
Kind regards, Gus
